A Moment in Time

My entry for the Moment in Time Global Mosaic — taken at 1500 hrs UTC on Sunday May 2ndmr-lincoln-rose

Be Part of a Moment in Time on May 2

girl-photo1It happens–Sunday, May 2, 2010. 11 am EST. 8am PST. 1500 hours UTC (Universal Time Coordinated–yeah had to look that one up). You, with your camera, can be part of A Timely Global Mosaic.
The invitation has been extended by Lens, The New York Times photo blog, to take a photo at that time, on that day, and submit it.

Wherever you are, we hope you’ll have a camera — or a camera phone — in hand. And we hope you’ll be taking a picture to send to Lens that will capture this singular instant in whatever way you think would add to a marvelous global mosaic; a Web-built image of one moment in time across the world.

After taking your ONE photo right on time, you then upload it to submit.nytimes.com/moment.

The general photo topics they’ve listed include:
Religion
Play
Nature and the Environment
Family
Work
Arts and Entertainment
Money and the Economy
Community
Social Issues

What’s cool is you can plan your shot ahead of time…where you’re going to be and what it is you’re going to capture. Just make sure you have quick and easy access to getting the image uploaded. You actually have five days to get your image uploaded, so no pressure there. :)
